Elizabeth Miri is a senior homeschool student in Cedar Park, Texas. Elizabeth learned that GIS can be an exciting career, but that many people her age had never even heard of it. She started this club to help recruit more students, especially homeschool students like herself, to the field.
Abigail Miri
Vice President
Abigail Miri is a sophomore in high school and is interested in exploring the field of GIS. She is drawn to the ability to analyze geographic data, uncover new insights, and tell compelling stories online. She is interested in using StoryMaps to help with public communication.

John Miri
Club Advisor
John Miri was the Chief Administrative Officer of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) from 2014 to 2023. LCRA is a water and energy utility based in Austin, Texas. John has seen the importance of GIS through his daily work and is enthusiastic about recruiting more people into the field. John earned a bachelor's degree in Physics from Harvard College in 1998.
